Monster Blind Dates

Helix's love life has been suffering through a bit of a dry spell lately so he is asking for your help.

If you know a puppet that fits
Helix's Dream Puppet Checklist, won't you fix Helix up?

E-Mail Helix with a monster blind date mate.

Halloween Bear

Why is Helix going on a blind date when he's just learned that his sew-mate, Alyce the Sheep, is now SINGLE?

No, Helix is not trying to have his sheep and eat bear too!

Helix was fixed-up with the orange Halloween bear BEFORE he learned of Alyce's marital situation. Being a monster of his word, Helix followed through on his date with the Halloween bear.

Blind Date Recap

Helix was initially skeptical about dating a bear - especially when you consider his past history with Winnie the Pooh. Helix and Winnie were never romantically involved but he gave all bears a bad name. Helix quickly learned the Halloween bear was different.

The couple discovered they had a lot in common. They were both orange, both celebrated their "birth"days on Halloween, and they were both made in China.

In keeping with the Halloween season, Helix and Halloween Bear decided to get together and watch scary movies.

Drew Barrymore's performance frightened the pair so much that pretty soon, they were curling up together under the covers.

In the middle of the movie, the Halloween Bear tried putting a move on Helix. Helix was enjoying her company but his loyalty to Alyce the Sheep won out. Helix just couldn't make out with the bear when his heart and horns belong to Alyce. He gently let the Halloween Bear down.

What did Helix think?

The Halloween Bear was very understanding about Helix's situation. The two remain close friends but Alyce has nothing to worry about. They are JUST friends!

Malata, the Evil Monkey

Set up by:
Jessica

"Malata is an evil monkey. She's surface washable too! I think she and Helix should hook up! She's evil because she is able to read and change people's minds. She plans to use this power to make kids want a Malata toy. When every child has a Malata toy, she can take over the world! Malata is looking for a partner in crime and maybe more! Oh, and Malata means "sick person" in Italian Her owner is very twisted!" (Jessica)

Blind Date Recap

This is a very special monster blind date. It is Helix's first blind date since he received his artificial legs! In the past, Helix has been very self-consicious about his lack of limbs. Now, his gorgeous gams may just give him that extra boost of confidence to meet his mate!

Helix was very attracted to Malata when they first met. And he wasted no time at all in showing off his legs!

Malata seemed impressed and was eager to show off her body for Helix. Normally, that would be a GOOD thing. However, Malata flaunted her tail in Helix's face causing him to again feel left out in the body part department.

Helix was expecting a wild night of swinging on jungle vines. But, Malata had something else in mind. She prepared a quiet dinner in her tree for Helix. A lot of humans think Helix is crazy and some have even called him bananas but Helix has never EATEN a banana. Malata was quick to tempt Helix with her chewy Chiquitas. Helix was instantly hooked!

An awkward moment came during dinner when Malata's friend, Curious George showed up unannounced. Helix was having a good time with Malata but Curious George just wouldn't take the hint and ended up disrupting the entire evening. First, he got a little too curious with Helix's puppet hole and kept looking up it. Helix thought it was very rude!

While Malata kept a very nice tree, Curious George was a slob and kept throwing his banana peels on the floor. Helix slipped on one and sprained his horns!

What did Helix think?

Malata was a great cook but there weren't any romantic sparks. However, that could have a lot to do with the uninvited third wheel. Helix is willing to give Malata another shot. Provided she moves trees and doesn't give Curious George her new address.

Henrietta

Set up by:

Helix hasn't been on a Monster Blind Date since he met
Alyce the Sheep. Although most humans think Helix and Alyce are "sew-mates", they also know it is very difficult to carry on a long distance relationship. Friends have encouraged Helix to be open to new possibilities so Helix reluctantly agreed to another Monster Blind Date.

Blind Date Recap

Henrietta took charge of planning the date. Her objective was to make Helix forget all about Alyce by seducing him with her feminine wiles. When Helix first met Henrietta, he had to admit she was quite beautiful (she was orange!). After talking for a few minutes, it was clear they had a lot in common.

Both enjoy hanging out around their master's printer.

Helix was starting to warm up to the idea of going out with someone new. The first stop on their date was the Minnesota Zoo. Helix was a little conflicted when he saw the tiger.

Does it qualify as a "cat"? Or is it exempt from being eaten because it's orange? Helix and Henrietta had a long discussion about this. Henrietta eventually convinced Helix not to eat the tiger. Instead, Helix ate a family of four that happened to be walking by.

Everything was looking up! That is, until, Helix and Henrietta went past the Family Farm. Helix poked his horns into the barn and got an instant reminder of Alyce.

Yes, it's true that these sheep had no heads. But, they still reminded Helix of Alyce. He immediately began to miss her. Henrietta quickly ushered Helix out of the barn.

The Zoo date was a bust so Henrietta went to Plan B. She took took Helix to the Mall of America where she tried to convince him that he would feel better if he would just spend all of his orange Tic-Tacs on her. Helix was too distracted by all the tasty humans to conintue thinking how much he missed Alyce.

Helix was also thrilled to visit his favorite store - Orange Julius. After a delicious human smoothie, Helix and Henrietta went browsing through the stores.

Just as Henrietta's Plan B seemed to be working, they passed by the "Basic Brown Bear Factory" and standing out from all the teddy bears, Helix saw a stuffed sheep!

This sheep wasn't as pretty as Alyce (mall sheep never are) but again, Helix's thoughts were quickly diverted to his sew-mate. It was a terrible thought to have but at that moment, Helix wished Alyce were there with him instead of Henrietta.

It was now perfectly clear to Henrietta that Helix wasn't going to get over that Cornish sheep easily. Helix paid more attention to the sheep he saw during the date than he did to Henrietta. This made her mad so Henrietta stormed off angrily leaving Helix alone.

What did Helix think?

Helix feels bad about the way he treated Henrietta. Normally, Helix is a very attentive monster and sensitive to the feelings of others. But, he has fallen horns over puppet hole for Alyce and just can't help himself.

Henrietta was a beautiful girl but something about her did bother Helix. Her eyes. Henrietta is very cross-eyed.

Despite this one physical flaw, she was pleasant company and under different circumstances, who knows? But, considering Henrietta walked out on him, Helix isn't hopeful of a second date. For Helix, it's back to dreaming about Alyce.

Pink Bunny

Normally, Helix isn't attracted to bunnies, hares, or rabbits. They have always seemed so stuck up -- always hopping around.

Helix finally relented and agreed to a date with Pink Bunny when he discovered she was a HAND PUPPET and had no legs - just like Helix!

Wouldn't this be a good place to hide an orange bunny?

Blind Date Recap

There was instant chemistry the moment they met. Instead of shaking paws, the two engaged in a much more friendly greeting - the rubbing of noses.

Humans, please don't think badly of Helix but he was thinking only with his horns. Before he could even get Pink Bunny's name, Helix had already jumped into her basket. As you can see, it was a very passionate night.

At this point, Helix ate the camera so they could have their privacy.

What did Helix think?

Despite having a nervous nose twitch, Pink Bunny was everything Helix could hope for in a Puppet mate.

However, after talking to his friends, Helix has learned that bunnies have a notorious reputation for multiplying.

Helix just isn't sure he is ready for the responsibility of providing for a large litter of bunny/monster hybrids.

While one night of puppet pleasure was amazing, Helix needs more in a relationship. He intends on seeing Pink Bunny again and this time getting to know her outside of her basket.

Is Pink Bunny someone that Helix will share his carrots with?

Only time will tell.

Piglet

Did Helix bring home the bacon?

Helix was having trouble sleeping so he turned on the television and started flipping through the channels.

As everyone knows, late-night television often features an abundance of dating service commercials. This night was no exception.

Helix saw a commercial for "Pork: The other white meat!" and immediately picked up the phone! The Pork Council was all too eager to set Helix up on a blind date with Piglet!

Blind Date Recap

Helix was a little confused when he first met Piglet. The advertisement for "Pork: The other white meat" was incorrect. Piglet's meat was pink!

But, that wasn't the only deception!
Helix was expecting a curly tail and Piglet had no tail! The date was off to a bumpy start.

Piglet went to lots of trouble to make dinner for Helix. The gesture was nice and the slop wasn't half-bad but Helix didn't enjoy having to eat out of a trough. Helix may be a monster but he still believes in basic table manners.

After dinner, Helix and Piglet went digging for truffles. Helix is a city monster so he enjoyed the scenery and solitude of being with a country pig.

However, in the course of digging for truffles, Helix's nose got a little dirty. Piglet suggested they take a Mud Bath. Now, this made NO sense at all and besides, Helix would never hop into a puddle of mud on the first date anyway. Helix gently declined Piglet's request and the evening ended there.

What did Helix think?

Piglet seemed a little timid and was constantly Oink'ing throughout the date. Plus, Helix isn't even sure that Piglet is FEMALE. Helix doesn't see a future here!

In fact, the only reason Helix can think of to call Piglet again is to bribe him for information he can use against Winnie the Pooh.

Easter chick

It's the classic story of Fur meets Feathers!

All day on the Internet, Helix sees humans talking about "hot chicks". Helix finally decided it was the right time for him to date a hot chick!

Blind Date Recap

The date started with a major faux pax on Helix's part. Never being one to show up empty-pawed, Helix bought his date a gift. Unfortunately, it was a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Helix lots some points right away!

But, Helix recovered by staying away from cliche questions like, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" and "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?".

Instead, Helix and Chick had a long talk and discovered they have a lot in common. They both enjoy pecking, Helix has an orange nose while Chick has an orange beak, and neither of them can fly.

The two puppets had planned to take in a movie but their physical attraction was too great. They ditched the movie and ended up in a all-night make-out session on Helix's Puppet Master's couch.

What did Helix think?

Even without lips, Helix thought she was a good kisser! Things got even hotter when he started to gnaw on her drumsticks! But, that's as far as Helix goes on a first date.

Helix had a wonderful time and would like to see Chick again.

Helix's first monster blind date was with Zoe!

"I think you and Zoe would be good together." (Pattiann)

Blind Date Recap

Since Zoe has legs, she volunteered to pick Helix up at his apartment. Helix was instantly physically attracted to her. After all, Zoe is ORANGE, too!

The date began at a private yoga class. Helix got a little jealous when the instructor helped Zoe put her legs behind her head. Helix was forced to sit helplessly by, propped up against a wall and watch her flaunt her legs.

From there, the couple proceeded to a nearby alley for dinner. While looking for stray cats to eat, they had an opportunity to talk.

Zoe laughed at all of Helix's jokes but she was a little too hyper. The giggling never stopped and Helix was starting to think he had been set up with a puppet airhead.

The next stop was at a karaoke bar where Zoe sang her favorite song, 'Put on a Happy Face." Despite kicking back several Rum & Cokes, Helix couldn't drown out her shrill, annoying voice.

The date concluded with a friendly hug and Helix promising to visit Zoe on the set of Sesame Street.

What did Helix think?

Zoe was a fun puppet to hang out with but she's not really Helix's type. Helix needs a more intellectual and mature monster to stimulate his horns.
