Last year, Helix
conducted the first of many social experiments when he
posed the question, "Can a monster hand puppet get a
job?" to his website visitors. A stunning 91% of
humans polled thought that Helix could, in fact, get a
job.
Helix set out to prove them right and applied for
hundreds of positions on www.monster.com during
December 2001. Helix was pleased to receive 21 responses to his
inquiry for employment.
Helix considered his experiment a success when he got the
following e-mail regarding a position for a Home Theater
Audio/Video Installer:
"You are hired. When can you come in for an
interview?"
Helix was thrilled by this offer but unfortunately, at
that time did not possess artificial legs and could not
walk to the interview. Now, that Helix has three pairs of
artificial legs, transportation is not a problem.
During the month of March, Helix will again visit www.monster.com and send
a link to his online resume to potential employers.
Stay tuned to this page for updates on this exciting
experiment!

Comments:
"Thank you so much for your
resume. At this time, we have no immediate needs
for an orange monster who has no phone skills (phone
skills are very much a requirement for this position),
but we will certainly keep your resume on file in case
another opening arises that is more suitable for your
skills. Thanks for your interest in iBasis, Inc.!" (Human

Thank you for your interest in Weyerhaeuser. We
received your email regarding the Graphic Sales

attempting to make fun. We can appreciate that as
well as anyone; however, if you would like to send a
legitimate resume, we would welcome that. Again,
thank you for your interest in Weyerhaeuser." (Nathan
