One Hour Photo

Helix's Review
Robin Williams delivers one of the best performances of
his career in this psychological thriller. Helix hasn't
found a human as creepy as Sy the Photo Guy since being
captured by the CPM. In fact, Helix now suspects a
conspiracy between the two. The CPM takes lots of
pictures of Helix. But, who develops them? Ah, it's all
starting to make sense now.

This film is a stylish piece of
art and a wonderful change of pace from the usual Robin
Williams fare. Williams creates both a creepy and
compassionate character as Sy. However, after a wonderful
build-up, the climax of the film is ulimtately a
let-down.
With a few minor adjustments, this movie could have
easily made the leap from "good" to
"great". After repeated viewings, it ends up
somewhere in between. On the film's merits alone, it
deserves three horns up. But when factoring in the large
volume of cats, Helix can't resist crediting "One
Hour Photo" with four horns.
